Christmas In July Day 2: DIY Christmas Trees

So I've actually managed to get my first two days done!

I didn't think I would actually get past the first day, but now I'm just more excited to keep going and making more fun holiday DIYs.

It doesn't hurt that my apartment is starting to look really fun and festive either.

Today I worked on a few DIY Christmas Trees. The first were some Christmas trees made out of cupcake liners and the second was one made out of ribbon.  I won't deny that the ribbon tree was very tedious but the results were well worth the time cutting and gluing ribbon.

Here are the results of today's fun:

And heres the video of the process:

Christmas In July Day 1: DIY Countdown Calendar

Hey Everyone!!!

I know I am crazy, but I really love Christmas.

Like if I were able to celebrate it twice a year I would.

And that's exactly what I'm going to do...

It's Christmas in July time!!!!

To begin my month of celebration I have decided to start by creating several DIY crafts to use for decoration, food and drink.  Since I recently moved to Florida on short notice I didn't exactly have time to pack up all my Christmas decorations (I've recently begged my mother to ship me my Christmas Tree), but I can't ask to have her go through the chaos of the attic to send the other items so I'll just have to make do with making everything.

I'll be creating videos to go along with the DIYs and will hopefully be posting new ones every other day until the 25th! So far so good.

The first video is for my DIY Countdown Calendar, which I absolutely love. I've never had a countdown calendar, or an advent calendar for the actual holidays and I thought it would be a fun way to decorate for my summer celebrations. Plus, I'm having a holiday party on the 25th so I do actually have something to count down to.

All of the supplies that I will be using this month are being purchased as the month goes along, so unless its a true holiday item I absolutely cannot do without everything is available in craft stores right now, making this very easy to find the items to create with.

I hope you enjoy this month as much as I will and follow my videos for some fun DIYs!!!

Now for the actual video...

The Beginning

It's been three months.

Three months since I made the decision to move 1,400 miles away from home and take my chances down in Florida.

I was working in retail management before the move and I absolutely loved it, only problem was that my store closed down.  I could have stayed in New York and taken a position with our sister company but I felt like I needed a change, so here I am.

My best friend, Sammi, lives in the area, recently got engaged and asked me to be her maid of honor!! So I figured what better time to come down here since there are so many big things that are going to be happening over the next year.

I'm not going to lie, I thought coming down here would open up a world of opportunities for me. Better jobs, fun adventures and lots of sun. So far I've been to the beach once, thanks to my cousin, and it took over a month for me to find a job that I absolutely hated. But I did get to go to Epcot at least, who doesn't love it there??

Now I'm in between jobs, starting to nanny in a few days and freaking out about how my rent will get paid this weekend, but I took this chance coming down here and I intend to see it through. After all the bad that has happened so far this year we're only halfway through it so there's plenty of time for it to turn around. Oh, and my 25th birthday is next weekend so there's something to celebrate!!!

This blog will chronicle the events of my life as I figure out what the heck I want to do, and the exciting things that will hopefully be happening going forward. I hope you will take this journey with me..
